iPhone/iOS support for Hoot?

I thought Safari supported Tail Call Optimization as of 18.2, and therefore it and iOS 18.2 and higher should support Hoot?

I ask this because my limited testing has yet to find any iphone that it seems to run on, so I guess I must be mistaken.

Is there any idea about when Safari will support Hoot, or if it does already what version of it and iOS are needed to run it?

Thanks!

Unfortunately, WebKit’s wasm tail call support shipped with a bug that breaks Hoot binaries: 288722 – Tail call result type validation not working correctly for nullable types

This bug was fixed nearly six months ago and we’re still waiting for it to reach Safari/iOS. I haven’t checked in awhile but hopefully not much longer if it hasn’t shipped yet.

UPDATE: Our resident iPhone haver, @tsyesika, just confirmed that Hoot applications are working on iOS now! Give it another shot @kryptec and let us know how it goes!

After much searching, I don’t have a friend with an iPhone running later than 18.6.2, which is apparently not new enough. I guess they’re not pushing the update to older phones, but I’m not sure where the cutoff is exactly.

Ah, bummer. I’m not sure either since I don’t own a iPhone or otherwise keep up with the happenings in Apple land.
