I had grand ideas to make a Scheme compiler to WebAssembly, but alas I was working on it alone in my spare time and it’s time for me to accept that it’s fallen by the wayside. I haven’t made any contributions in a long while.
This project seems to have the best claim to inherit the domain I registered when I was still full of optimism: https://web-scheme.org. Do you want it? I’d donate it for free. It’s registered through June 21, 2025, then it would become publicly available again.
Hi @ouille! I can sympathize as I have a growing list of hobby projects that have fallen by the wayside. I’ve visited https://web-scheme.org numerous times since work on Hoot started to see if there were any updates. It’s the top result on Google for the search “scheme webassembly” so nice job on the SEO!
It is very kind of you to offer to donate the domain name. We accept! Could you email dave AT spritely.institute and we can work together on the transfer? Thank you!
Cool! Just reached out. I started my project a little over a year before you guys announced yours, back when I thought nobody else cared enough to make a new Scheme compiler that could do justice to Wasm. Happy you guys proved me very wrong!
