The language of “content” and “consuming” always rubs me the wrong way a little bit, but I think the trends they’re observing are probably a good thing for the tools that Spritely’s building. The idea of building up networks of trust and consent fits more neatly with smaller groups than with large Twitter-style social networks.

It makes me think the world is probably more ready for Spritely than it would have been a few years back.

The future of community is personal, intentional, and built on trust.

Sure sounds like Spritely’s mission to me!

The trick is in attracting “community moderators” to do the curation and moderation.

Some people have already been doing that good work for decades, but there are a lot more mainstream “influencers” who are more interested in platforms and “communities” that number in the hundreds of thousands and up.

And these “community moderators” must NOT BE “influencers” in disguise pushing a memeplex or a “message” that is detrimental.

I have seen too many places destroyed by that kind of people, so be on the lookout.
